Description

In this tour we propose to discover together at a running pace the natural beauties of the Pădurea Craiului Mountains (Crișului Repede Gorge). The area is superb, picturesque with many tourist attractions. It includes some of the most famous caves in the country, such as Peștera Vantului, Peștera Ungurul Mare or Peștera Vadu Crișului (possible to visit inside if it is not rainy season). The tour offers spectacular panoramas above the Crișului Gorge, entrances to wild valleys, along a stream of water, which remind us of real adventures. Along the way we also encounter caves such as Peștera Bătranului and Peștera Deventului. The running trails are in very good condition and offer an opening to distant horizons. It will be a unique experience.

The base camp will be at Casa Bucătarului, a three-star guesthouse, with the possibility of a sauna and swimming pool (extra cost) and all the amenities of a modern stay. The routes are circuit or round-trip with departure and return to the base camp.

The mountain running tours organized by Zaiko Adventures are authentic and unique, taking place in maximum safety and comfort under the guidance of an accredited mountain guide or running instructor, on specially designed trails that will give you the pleasure of running in the mountains in interesting areas with new landscapes.

Schedule/Route

1) Loop Route 1 – 16 km / 1050 m elevation gain / approx. 2.1 – 3 hours
– we see the Devent Caves
– has two gazebos
– we see the village of Șuncuiuș from above
– it's a technical area, with rocks and more technical climbs and descents
– we also have a forest area and a clearing
– we pass through a mountain village called Pojorâta
– you can see Vladeasa from a distance and other ridges so it has a wide opening from above
– we have a spring on the route

2) Misid Trail – 10 km / 400 m elevation gain / approx. 1.1 – 1.5 hours
– we see the Ungurul Mare Cave
– we pass through the stream several times
– the valley area, cool, shady and technical

3) Loop Route 2 – 26 km / 1100 elevation gain / approx. 3 – 4 h
– we see the Old Man's Cave
– we see the stone and clay quarry
– we were crossing the village of Șuncuiuș and the village of Pojorată
– we have springs on the route
– we see the Vadu Crișului Cave
– running area combined with technical area

4) Șuncuiuș – Roșia route via Misid / Zece Hotare – 29 km / 830 m elevation difference / approx. 3 – 5 hours
– it is a secluded, quiet, runnable and easy trail, but it is long
– round trip
– from the valley area we reach very green and hilly areas instead. Roșia
– we see Moana's cave, a cave with water inside, accessible, with a wide opening at the entrance
